NTG still looking to Cape York schools

Minister for Education Peter Chandler will return to Cape York Peninsula to visit schools getting great results, joined by Minister for Community Services Bess Price and three Indigenous educators from Territory Schools. It is crucial that the views of these influential educators are canvassed while reforms for remote schools are being developed, writes MR CHANDLER.

I have spent the last three days visiting remote schools on the Cape York Peninsula, analysing why they're seeing great results with far less resources than Territory schools. I was absolutely blown away by the high level of engagement in every classroom and have committed to work with Noel Pearson and his Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy, writes Peter Chandler, Northern Territory Minister for Education.

Cape York lessons for Centre's schools?

Three visitors from the Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy, part of the welfare reform drive led by Noel Pearson, have been in central Australia this week as guests of the Member for Namatjira, Alison Anderson. Not content to wait for the outcome of her government's review of Indigenous education (final report due in April) Ms Anderson is seeking to build a relationship between the ambitious academy and the schools in her electorate.
