The first beer under the new rules – only with a meal, physical distance maintained, maximum two hours in the pub – was served in the Todd Tavern in the Mall a few minutes ago, to Aiden Kehoue, from Alice Springs, by Morgan Houpe, a journalism student from Belgium on a working holiday.
 
Hot on his heels were a group of seniors, reviving their Friday noon lunch and a couple of drinks.
