Police are investigating an incident in which a group of people assaulted two men in Alice Springs on Sunday morning.
Around 2am, the two men aged 18 and 19 were walking along Stuart Terrace when they were approached by a group of youths.
It is alleged the group demanded cigarettes and money before physically assaulting them. The pair ran to a taxi parked nearby, which drove them to safety.
The two men suffered injuries to the head and face and reported the incident to police later that morning.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the youth involved in the incident.
Police report
What’s were two teen men doing out on Stuart Terrace at 2am?
I know in a democratic society they should be free to go where they want, when they want but the question begs: What’s were they looking from life at 2am in Alice Springs other than shift work keeping them from their comfy beds off the street.
Didn’t these two know there was a curfew for law-abiding citizens, they aren’t allowed out of their home after 9pm.
Oh, that’s right, it’s because its unwritten, just known.
@ Meg: Are you really asking that question, Meg?
Can one of these kids ask me for a smoke!
Is Meg for real?
