Dakar winner Toby Price (NSW, KTM 500 EXC) has a huge 10 second lead in the Tatts Finke prologue for bikes this afternoon, with 4 minutes and 58 seconds.
Although the prologue is still under way, Price is likely to start first in the southbound leg of the bike race tomorrow.
The next place getters are tightly spaced: Jabob Smith (Honda CRF 450R) and Tye Simmonds (KTM 500 EXC, both NSW) are on 5:08.
They are followed by Ivan Long (SA, KTM 500 EXC) with 5:11.
Beau Ralston (NSW, Yamaha YZF 450) is on 5:15.
After the conclusion of the car and buggy prologue there are no changes in the first four positions reported earlier, but Glenn Owen (Vic, Jimco 2016 Nissan 3500cc) is now in 5th position with 5:21 – the same time as Burrows.
Matthew Kittle (listed as an SA driver but formerly from Alice Springs), in a Jimco PKMS Aussie Special, will start 9th, as the first local driver. His time is 5:24.
Price is 14 seconds faster around the prologue track than the fastest buggy, piloted by Jack Rhodes.
