Great Barrier Reef at risk, and so is Kakadu

“The writings of Tim Flannery highlight longer term threats due to climate change.
 
“Some current action is being taken to address threats but climate change does remain a major concern. It is also a concern for other major tourism attractions including Kakadu.”
 
This is the view of Dr Sally Driml, tourism lecturer at the University of Queensland Business School.
 
She has provided the Alice Springs News Online comprehensive background details about the significance of the Great Barrier Reef to Queensland’s and Australia’s tourism industry, and Tim Flannery’s prediction that the reef “must be counted among the living dead”.
