Central Craft member Georgie Yovanovic is on a disability pension with limited financial means but through sponsorship of the St Vincent de Paul Society, she’s been able to get a plethora of recycled garments to compete in Saturday’s Wearable Art Awards.
Georgie has entered in the ‘Fantasia’ and the ‘Recycled and or Found’ categories and “by cutting, twisting, folding, ruffling, pleating and hand stitching the pre-loved garments he has turned these everyday items into breathtaking creations,” says Central Craft’s Jen Standish-White, the organizer of the event.
