Saving, reopening Pitchi Richi: another step forward

Critical to reopening the Centre's first man-made tourist attraction is the conservation of its surviving ceramic sculptures created by William Ricketts, a frequent visitor to Central Australia in the mid- 20th century.  A locally-based conservator has been funded to assess what is required. Reopening is the ultimate goal of caretaker community group, Heritage Alice Springs. KIERAN FINNANE reports.
