Sister Rona Glynn grew up at The Bungalow in Alice Springs, Mulgoa in NSW and St Mary’s Hostel, back in Alice Springs. In 1952 she was the first Indigenous junior teacher at the Alice Springs Primary School. In 1962 she became the first Indigenous charge sister at the Alice Springs Hospital. It is believed that she delivered over 2000 babies and was loved throughout Alice as Sister Glynn.
