Aborigines from miles around came to witness the execution. The prisoners were brought forward before a hushed crowd. Murmurs circulated. Slowly the accused mounted the gallows. The bolt was shot and the prisoners hanged by their necks. The Aborigines who witnessed the scene were delighted and thought the performance was for their entertainment.
