LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Sir – I am writing about the governments proposal to build the new Indigenous Art Gallery in Alice Springs.
Many people in Alice Springs DO NOT want the gallery built on our oval.
ANZAC oval is an important part of our town, it’s a social, sporting and cultural place and we don’t want to lose it.
It also has historical value as the first ANZAC service was conducted at the base of ANZAC hill in 1933.
It was also used as a camp for the military in WW2. Leave our oval alone.
