Eastside, a great little suburb

LETTER TO THE EDITOR
 
Sir – Head over to Eastside this Saturday as we hold the inaugural “Eastside Bonanza” and showcase this great little suburb of Alice Springs.
 
The Eastside Shopping District is a growing village for a range of local community clubs, sporting activities, businesses and not-for-profit organisations.
 
In recognition of the Alice Springs Master’s Games launch, there will be a range of fun “mini” sporting competitions taking place in the carpark, including a mini table tennis tournament, a netball sharp-shooter competition and a crackerjack bowls competition. Come down and show-off your skills to be in the running for some great prizes.
 
Eastside IGA is also offering a special “Sports Support Fruit Pack” with any 600ml water sold.
 
There will be great deals on herbs and plants at Geoff Miers Garden Solutions.
 
For kids there will be facepainting from 11am. For the adults there will even be wine tasting from 11am to 1pm.
 
Eastside Pilates has a very special “Sports Lovers Breakfast” all morning.
 
And of course there will be stalls for food, clothing, plants, arts & crafts and second-hand books and presentations from local organisations.
 
And did we mention live music? A big thanks to Wolfpack Amadeus, Colin Lillie, Jacinta Price, Broadwing, Dave Crowe for supporting this inaugural community event.
 
102.1 8CCC Community Radio Inc will be broadcasting throughout the day, and also offering station tours and recording sessions for the popular local production: “Many Voices One Place.” Come on down and share your story about getting to Alice Springs.
