Booth may drop escort licence application: source

By ERWIN CHLANDA

A highly placed source says Cr Geoff Booth has indicated he may be reconsidering his application for an escort agency licence in Alice Springs.

The Department of Business says it has not received any “formal” withdrawal but the source, speaking on the condition of not being named, says it is likely to happen on Monday.

A council meeting in the evening will deal with the Councillor’s escort agency application, should it still be current, as well as with questions raised about his residential address.

Cr Booth has told ASIC he lives in Fremantle, WA, which would disqualify him from serving as a Councillor of the Alice Springs Town Council.

Cr Booth did not respond to a request for comment.
